Quite Old Hotel; Great Lake View; Huge Onsen

Hotels in this area were pricey, but this particular hotel seemed to offer acceptable price considering its lakeside location, room type (capacity and lake view). No wonder… This hotel was quite old; and probably needed renovation soon. Room door was still manual button lock without any other devices (deadbolt, latch, chain), so don’t forget to lock the door when you leave and ensure to have room key with you. Also, parking area was quite limited with small entrance and dark at night. All that said, view from my room was peaceful and beautiful. There were fireworks at night during my stay, so my kids were excited to see all 3 sets, one of which was directly from this hotel. My room was spacious enough for 2 adults and 2 kids with a small table and 4 chairs looking over the lake. With lakeside location, it was lovely to just come down from a room and have a walk along the lake for fresh air and peaceful atmosphere. Onsen was good and bigger than most I had ever visited. Second floor offered indoor and outdoor areas. Breakfast and dinner were organized in time-slot arrangement, so crowd control was quite well managed. A selection was ok, but seemed to be exactly the same every day. If you chose half board or full board over your 2-3 days stay, prepared to deal with the same set of selection each day.

El hotel está bien ubicado, a 800 metros de la estación de autobuses y frente al lago. La atención del personal fue muy buena, intentando solucionar cualquier inconveniente y evacuando las dudas de los huéspedes. Además de japonés, algunos trabajadores manejaban también el inglés aunque no siempre se les entendía totalmente. La habitación era amplia, cómoda y con una hermosa vista del lago. Había que descalzarse al entrar al dormitorio y se disponía de yukata para usar no solamente en la habitación sino en todas las instalaciones del hotel. El baño privado contaba con bañera y ducha integradas. Las instalaciones eran agradables, con un restaurante cómodo en el cual se sirven el desayuno y la cena, ambos de tipo buffet con una buena variedad de opciones. Cabe destacar que las mismas son principalmente de cocina regional, lo cual resulta aún más interesante. La zona de baños públicos (onsen) está limpia y tiene unas piletas amplias con agua a una temperatura bastante alta pero agradable. En síntesis, un excelente lugar para disfrutar de una agradable estancia en el lago Toya con una buena relación calidad/precio. Lo único negativo es que solo hay un onsen exterior, algo pequeño y cuyo uso se intercala siendo un día para mujeres y al siguiente para hombres.

The view from the hotel is pretty good and the price is much better compared to the other more famous hotel next to it. Food and service is ok but don’t expect to be served as if you are eating at Nijo market. One plus point is that the hotel was not crowded and the onsen was pretty much a private one. The outdoor onsen is quite nice too.

The view from the room is great! Room feels dated but spacious. Private bathroom. The dinner and breakfast is acceptable. Onsen is good. The outdoor onsen will switch every day. Staff is friendly. Overall check in without any fuss. Free parking on site which is a plus point.

温泉は最高。ただ外国人だらけ

温泉街の端にあるホテルです。部屋は広めの部屋に宿泊。その割にはユニットバスだし、夜は暖房つけないと眠れません。ご飯は北海道なのでそれなりの名物が出てました。 外国人も食べやすいようにバイキング形式なんだろうがやめてほしい。
